The New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: Now even safer, greener, more economical, and more attractive.

Earlier this week the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van made its world debut! The Sprinter has always driven innovations in its segment - a tradition that will be continued by the new model. One new, exciting feature that will come standard in the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is the all-new Crosswind Assist. This feature works by applying the brakes to specific wheels when strong cross winds are detected in order to maintain the vehicle's stability and keep it from drifting out of its lane.

Other new systems that are celebrating their world debut in the Sprinter include:
  • Collision Prevention Assist
  • Blind Spot Assist
  • Highbeam Assist
  • Lane Keeping Assist
Mercedes-Benz is confident that these electronic assistants will play a major part in helping to reduce the number of accidents in the van sector.

Aside from safety, a number of updates have also been made to in order to improve the handling and performance of the Sprinter. The chassis has been lowered, which will help reduce the drag, increase fuel efficiency, and make loading/unloading cargo a bit easier.

To further enhance fuel efficiency, Mercedes-Benz has:
  1. Used additional exhaust treatment to optimize the injection and combustion processes
  2. Adjusted the drive system and the ancillary components (transmission, rear axle, etc.)
On the outside, you'll notice that the appearance of the new Sprinter has changed dramatically. The radiator grille is now much more prominent and features a 3-slotted design, a characteristic that will help the van look consistent with the rest of the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Not only is this design is pleasing to the eye, but it also funnels more air into the engine bay to help optimize engine performance. Alongside the grille lies the redesigned headlights, which are now more angular and have been divided into separate segments.

Step inside the new Sprinter and you'll notice that comfort has been boosted by the new upholstery and seat coverings, a thicker steering wheel that makes gripping easier, and chrome applications lining the air ducts for models that are equipped with a multifunctional steering wheel. A next-generation radio system has also been incorporated into the new Sprinter, which has state-of-the-art electronic entertainment features, Bluetooth® telephone equipment, and an available Becker MAP PILOT® navigation system.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans have been thoroughly tested with more than 4 million miles of endurance driving and customer trials to ensure the new Sprinter's high quality design meets the rigorous standards set forth by Mercedes-Benz.

Orders for the new Sprinter begin in June 2013, with deliveries starting in September.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG® Set for Debut at 2013 NYIAS

This year's New York Auto Show will make quite an impression on Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts, as the brand new, CLA45 AMG® is about to make its debut. The CLA-Class was introduced to the world earlier this year in a commercial during Super Bowl XLVII. Since then, consumers have been craving for the engineers at AMG® to add their touch to the already eye-catching sedan. Thankfully, the wait is almost over.

The 2013 New York International Auto Show officially kicks off on Friday, March 29th, however we are excited to announce that Rallye Motors will have exclusive preview of the show beginning tomorrow, March 27th. As always, Mercedes-Benz will have a strong presence at this year's showcase, and will highlight the event with the all-new CLA45 AMG®.

Boasting an inline-four turbocharged engine, the CLA45 AMG® will be able to produce 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. This power will be transferred to the wheels through an ultra smooth, 7-speed automatic transmission with Dual-Clutch Technology (DCT) and will reach the pavement with the help of a new, performance-oriented 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system from Mercedes-Benz. This intelligent all-wheel drive system sends power primarily to the front wheels, however when in sport mode, some of the torque gets distributed to the rear. Together, this tandem should help the CLA45 achieve 60 mph in under five seconds, all while maintaining impressive fuel economy statistics.

Sleek, and sporty are good adjectives to describe both the interior and exterior of the CLA-Class, and like the rest of the AMG® lineup, the CLA45 will have characteristics to distinguish itself from the base model.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class
Official photos of the CLA45 AMG® have not been released yet, but we think that if you base your imagination off the CLA250, and throw in a few race-inspired details, you should have a good idea on what to expect.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Ever since it's debut as the "Ponton" in 1954, the S-Class has been the flagship model for Mercedes-Benz and has been leading the automotive industry with it's cutting-edge technological innovations. Currently in it's 10th generation (W221), the S-Class is set to receive a complete overhaul for the 2014 Model Year as a new chassis (W222) is almost ready to be introduced.

Coming this Fall, the S-Class will have a number of upgrades, mostly to the interior which will be highlighted by a massive TFT LCD (Thin-Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) screen that will spread across most of the dashboard. This new headunit (model NTG5) will be customizable so that drivers can organize the instrument panel and infotainment features according to their preference. The interior cabin is also expected to be filled with new, high-tech gadgets and lavish materials to line throughout.

As for the exterior body components, the 2014 model is not expected to change very much, as it will be based off of the current S-Class styling. However, the front end is set to receive a slight facelift, with a wider grille and headlamps that wrap around the fenders and hood. The rear end will have redefined, swooping lines to help create a cleaner profile look, and updated tail lights that will shine bright with LED bulbs.

An aluminum-intensive uni-body with four-link front and multi-link rear suspensions are also in the works, which will help get the most out of the new and improved Magic Ride Control system. Although we don't have much information on the drive-train options, the new S-Class should have a few different options including direct-injected and turbocharged engines. Power from these engines are expected to be transferred through a 9-speed automatic transmission that will provide ultra smooth gear shifts, and help improve fuel economy.

For now, that is all the information available on the 2014 S-Class. Stay tuned and we will keep you posted when we learn more!

The official debut for the 2014 S-Class is not set in stone, but rumor has it that Mercedes-Benz will unveil this well-kept secret over the Summer before its launch in the Fall of 2013.
